PDFio is designed for temporary online PDF processing. This policy explains how files, contact information, analytics and advertising may be handled.

Uploaded files

Files uploaded to PDFio are used only to run the selected PDF tool. Temporary input and output files are stored in protected upload folders and are cleaned automatically after the configured retention window. Do not upload documents that you are not authorized to process.

OCR processing

OCR tools may create temporary page images and text output while processing scanned PDFs or images. These files are temporary and are not intended for permanent storage.

AI processing

AI-powered tools, when enabled by the site owner, may send extracted document text and the user's prompt to the configured AI API provider for generating summaries, translations or answers. AI tools are disabled by default in the source code until a real API key and privacy configuration are added.

Contact forms

If you contact us, we may receive your name, email address and message so that we can respond to your inquiry.

Analytics and advertising

PDFio may use analytics and advertising services to understand usage and support free tools. Advertising code is configuration-driven and should only be enabled after the site is approved by the ad provider. Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their own policies.

Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards such as randomized file names, direct script blocking in upload folders, no directory listing, and temporary output links. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can avoid submitting personal information by not using contact forms and by not uploading sensitive documents. For privacy questions, use the Contact page.

File cleanup

PDFio uses scheduled cleanup for temporary upload and output folders. The exact retention window may vary by deployment, but the site is designed so processed files are not kept as permanent public storage.

Children

PDFio is a general document utility and is not directed to children. Users should only upload files they are authorized to process.
