PDF page tools are easy to confuse. Splitting, extracting and removing pages all create a new PDF, but the purpose is different. Choosing the correct tool saves time and avoids wrong outputs.
Use Split PDF when you want to divide a document
Split PDF is best when one large file needs to become smaller files. You can extract a range such as 1-5, or split every page into separate PDFs inside a ZIP file.
Use Extract Pages when you want to keep selected pages
Extract PDF Pages is ideal when you only need some pages from a long document. For example, if a 60-page file contains a 4-page annexure, extract only those pages and download a focused PDF.
Use Remove Pages when you want to delete selected pages
Remove PDF Pages is useful when the file is mostly correct but contains blank pages, duplicates, covers or instruction pages that should not be shared.
Page range examples
PDFio page range tools support simple page references such as 1-3,5,8-z. The letter z means the last page. Always review the output after a page operation because page numbers in the PDF viewer may differ from printed page numbers inside the document.
Suggested workflow
- Use PDF Page Counter to confirm total pages.
- Choose Split, Extract or Remove based on your goal.
- Download the result and open it in PDF Viewer.
- Compress or merge the final PDF if needed.
This approach keeps the original file unchanged while producing a clean output for sharing, printing or portal upload.
